BASHH MEMBERS – PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO ENSURE SERIVE USERS HAVE ACCESS TO MPOX VACCINATION
As you will be aware now, UKHSA and NHSE have agreed to a push on Mpox vaccination before the summer. Given the recent clusters this is more important than ever, especially since some of the new cases had a had partial vaccination.
To get Mpox vaccination people will need to have had their 1st dose by 16 June 2023 and their 2nd dose (completed your vaccination course) by 31 July 2023.
Please take the following two steps:
1. Check your clinic is appropriately on the site finder for vaccination- if you are not delivering vaccine you should still check so users are not incorrectly sent to your service.
Mpox Site Finder
Active vaccination sites are reminded to display their details on the Mpox Site Finder advising people how they can access a vaccination. The Site Finder has recently been reviewed and updated to reflect the current availability. Please check this and contact your regional lead to add or update your Site Finder details asap.
Sexual Health Services that are not actively vaccinating should know where to signpost individuals who require a vaccination.
2. Check that you have vaccine and chase your available supplies
Vaccine supply
Please be assured that there is enough vaccine available for the eligible population.
Your regional lead will work closely with you to ensure you have the supply required.
If you have any queries or issues with accessing stock please contact england.incident56@nhs.net to investigate.
