NICE publishes new impact report on sexual health

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has published a new impact report on sexual health. The report highlights progress made by the health and care system in implementing NICE guidance. The report also considers how NICE’s evidence-based guidance contributes to improvements in sexual health. The report can be accessed here.Earlier this month NICE published a final quality standard on sexual health including six quality statements that can be found here.Commenting on the NICE impact report, Dr Olwen Williams, President of BASHH said:

The NICE Quality standards for Sexual Health are a robust reminder that all healthcare professional should consider and take action to ensure that the sexual health needs of individuals are addressed. These Standards will be reflected in the BASHH Standards for Managing STIs due to published in early March.”
