Save our sexual health services!

Public Petition

The British Association for Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) has launched a public petition calling on the Government to reverse the damaging cuts to the public health budget in England and provide sufficient funding to ensure that patients can continue to access high-quality sexual health services throughout the country.

Supported by more than 25 leading patient, professional and third sector organisations, the petition is hosted on the ’38 degrees’ website and is accessible online here.

To support the petition, please do sign it yourself if you haven’t already and help to promote it on social media, making sure to share the link with friends, family and anyone else with an interest in sexual health or healthcare.

We are mindful that members may also wish to promote the petition within their local sexual health service. If you wish to do this, we would strongly recommend that you secure the relevant approvals from your Trust or organisation before proceeding and ensure that they are happy with this.

To help you take these requests forward, BASHH have produced a template letter template that you could use to send to your Chief Executive Officer or Head of Communications in your local Trust or Organisation to ask for approval to display the petition and further information. BASHH has also produced a printable version of the petition and a manual sign-up form for use if you are successful. All these materials are available to download below:

If you are able to display the petition within your local service we would be grateful if you could inform bashh@mandfhealth.com who will be able to provide advice on how you can coordinate postage of any collected signatures, as well as answering any other questions you may have.
